Another highlight is the lengthy breakfast and brunch hours, allowing late risers to enjoy delicious options without feeling rushed. Occasionally, patrons have reported that the service can slow down during peak dining hours, particularly on busy weekends. Some have mentioned slight delays in food arrival during high traffic times, which can be less than ideal for hungry diners. However, the staff's friendliness tends to mitigate this frustration, ensuring a pleasant atmosphere despite the wait.
Additionally, a few diners have noted personal preferences regarding the richness of certain dishes, especially those with a butter-heavy preparation. While they still find the food tasty, some may seek lighter options on the menu where available. Overall, these minor critiques do not overshadow the consistently positive dining experience.
Love that breakfast & brunch is served for longer throughout the day and alongside their lunch/coffee menu. No rushing in the morning, then a nice and relaxed atmosphere with quirky decor and lots of pretty lights and flowers. Food and drinks are reasonably priced, quality and were obviously prepared with care (Found a few items very buttery, cooked in it perhaps but that's personal preference and it was still very tasty, if rich) Will be back again for brunch in future & to try the dinners, which look like a great selection. Plenty of spacious parking and kids climbijg frame in the garden.
Friday 06/08/21. My aunt and I arrived without prior booking at about 6pm. The girl who greeted us at the door explained there may be a wait but we were welcome and gave us our choice of seating. We were promptly offered drinks and given a bottle of water at the table. We didn't decide on our food orders straight away, but didn't feel at all rushed to do so. Once we had ordered it arrived rather sooner than we anticipated which was a welcome surprise. Our food was well presented and the service by Nicky was exemplary! The young staff who attended us also, a girl and a boy were both very nice to us and incredibly efficient. The fish and chips were wonderful, my aunt asked the young boy to inform the chef that this was the best she has had and she regularly dines out across the Vale. The food alone means we will return but the high level of customer service makes this a certainty. We both had a very pleasant evening, a rare catch up which will now become a regular event at The Haywain. Thank you sincerely for such a lovely evening.
Called in for food. Great menu with varied choices for everyone. My boyfriend had hand carved ham salad+it was a lovely, fresh, crisp salad-huge bowl with quality, thick ham. I had grilled seabass+jacket potato, was served with peas+side salad. It was fantastic! Fish was beautiful. The jacket potato was so good you didn't need butter cos it tasted amazing. One of the best jacket potatoes I've ever had! The place is nicely decorated+very clean. It is very spacious+suitable for all occasions. It has plenty of outside seating for sunny days all around the pub. It has a great kids playground at the side which is fully fenced so your kids can't just run off easily. There is plenty of places to sit away from the playground if you didn't want to be around kids!😜There was also a massive marquee frame outside so obviously you could rent a big marquee for a big, family party. I will definitely be going back there again for a meal + maybe for a few drinks outside in the sunshine😉😜
We had the mixed grill there today, it was well cooked and we both enjoyed it. The portion sizes were large so thanks 10/10
